I always have high expectations of myself and am super competitive. This can have both positive and negative consequences! At a party a few years back, I was determined to win a splits competition between friends and co-workers, at any cost. I tore all 3 hamstrings off my bone and had to have them reattached with surgery! Up to 12 months with no running was painful, but at least I can say I won!
Nutrition, health and fitness have become trendy topics. Unfortunately there are too many unqualified individuals providing inaccurate information. With a majority of the population overweight and wanting to lose weight there is also a huge market for weight loss supplements, fad diets, books and magazines. I feel so much sadness and anger for all of those who invest great time, energy and money into trying to do the right thing to improve their health and lose weight and are sold unproven and unqualified advice. They put their trust in celebrity-endorsed diets, weight loss pills and exercise equipment. In the short term they may experience some success but more often than not they fail by regaining the initial weight loss plus more.
My ambition is to empower YOU to take control of your health and achieve your goals! You will learn that eating healthily and exercising regularly is very achievable, sustainable and enjoyable! This may involve eating pizza, pasta, cake, chocolate and drinking wine if that's what you enjoy. These foods, though should not make up the majority of our plate. They are less healthy options and do not provide us with all the nutrients we need for essential bodily functions!
