Announcing the launch of Totem Retreats
We now lead such busy lives and I recognise the lack of time and great confusion many have when it comes to eating, training and looking after themselves.
My driven intention has always been to help people live a happy and healthy life and achieve their fullest potential. I have the privilege of working closely with elite and recreational athletes to achieve their goals, those living with chronic disease improve their health and quality of life, a growing population who want to learn how to eat healthily to lose weight to improve their health, performance and self-confidence, and even those across the large spectrum of disordered eating to restore their physical and mental health, and improve their relationship with food, exercise and their body.
This strong desire and love (or in yoga, my “Dharma”) to help people continually motivates me to improve my knowledge, understanding and skill set in the health and wellness space and allows me to provide boundless effective support.
I have ridden the rollercoaster myself with my relationship and experience with food, exercise and body image. My driven nature has seen me compete in high levels in running and triathlon, including qualifying for the Australian team for my age group after just 2 years of taking up the sport in Sprint, Olympic and Half Ironman distance triathlon and Duathlon (run-bike-run).
With 30-hour intense training weeks, pressure and travel, I realised I was heading off track from my life goals, I developed some hormonal issues that may affect my future fertility due to intense training, and I simply lacked the time and energy to fulfil my other goals and values in life. And with that, I finished my triathlon chapter.
Still very active and always chasing a challenge, I currently enjoy gymnastics, strength training, running, yoga and I am heavily involved with the newest functional group training studio, Body Fit Training, as their dietitian and co-owner of one, almost two studios.
Linking my skills, qualifications, experience and passion, I’ve recently created Totem Retreats, a premier all-inclusive 7-day health and wellness experience that encompasses a variety of training methods including cardio, strength, running technique and yoga, together with wellness workshops so that our guests can take home skills and resources in nutrition, meditation and goal setting. Coupled with a variety of fun and exhilarating activities including mountain biking, surfing, SUP and high ropes course, this amazing adventure will take place on the lush and unspoilt, East Coast of Bali from 29th July – 4th August 2018.
Totem Retreats is ideal for solo travellers, couples, or friends, and caters to all levels and experience and fitness, from beginner to elite. I believe in create a non-intimating, welcoming and supportive community, recognising that we are all on our own paths and we all have something to offer one other.
If you’re looking to kick start a new philosophy and regime to rebuild your health; take your training and nutrition to the next level; or simply give yourself the gift of a much needed wellness boost, I’d be delighted for you to join me, together with our ambassadors (and previous clients of mine), Dena & Ariel Kaplan. Ariel is an Australian actress (Neighbours, The Saddle Club) who is also a KX Pilates instructor, Bodhi & Ride instructor and PT at Fox Fit in Melbourne. Dena Kaplan is an acclaimed actress, singer, dancer and DJ having played Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, FOMO and Splendour in the Grass. She is best known for her role as Abigail Armstrong in Dance Academy and Nadine in Honey 3.
